The Other Side - Diggn’ Up The Yard/You Do Something I Don’t Do Nothing (7”)

Label: Desco
Cat#: DS-1003
Soul/Funk, USA, 1997-98

RYM / Discogs

Note: The links above just go to the band-pages as this 7” isn’t listed on any of the sites. No video either, at least I can’t find one, guess I’ll be on the upload again. B-side is listed (in fine print) as Titus King & The Other Side.

  • Artist: Slow Roller
  • TrackName: You Make My Body Feel Better Part 1

Slow Roller - You Make My Body Feel Better Part 1 & 2 (7”)

Label: Hitco
Cat#: HCR 007
Disco/Funk, USA, 1978

Note: No entries for this one on any of the usual sites (or any unusual ones for that matter). It’s a pretty funky little disco tune with a nice break on the second half. Sounds like a mash-up between something like The Fatback Band and some African disco group (if you’ve checked out the Lagos compilations you know what I’m talking about). Pretty good stuff.

  • Artist: Sight Unseen

Sight Unseen - One More Thing/I’m On My Way (7”)

Label: Real
Cat#: R5001
Funk/Soul, USA, 197?

Discogs

Note: Hardly anything available on the net about this release. It seems One More Thing is on some compilation called Batteria For The Beatheads 2, which I’ve never heard of. Sellers seem to refer to it as rare or scarce more often than not and it seems it fetches a decent price, although some sell it on the cheaper side of the scale, so I’m not sure what to think. I guess I’ll have to up this myself for you all to listen to.

Sir Menelik - 7XL feat. Grand Puba & Sadat X (7”)
Label: RawkusCat#: noneHipHop, USA, 1999Discogs
Note: Here’s sort of an oddity, it’s a square flexidisc, and probably came as a promo with a magazine or something, I can’t remember which one though. Produced by DJ Spinna.

Note: My copy of this 7” is a promo one, so it has Clear on both sides instead of Industrial Lies on the flip. Not very rare this, but very very good.

Sonny Charles - Half As Much/Will You Be Easy (7”)
Label: A&MCat#: AMS 821Soul, USA, 1970RYM
Note: The B-side is the one to go for here imo, nothing wrong with the main track though. I just feel the flip more; a nice, slow soul-funker.
